The incident took place around 9:24 a.m., Sunday, July 7, when Wilton Police responded to an incident on the Ridgefield/Wilton Line about the naked white male that had jumped out of the back of a pickup truck while it was moving, said Wilton Police Lt. Robert Kluk.
The incident started in Ridgefield when a male resident of Ridgefield was traveling south on Danbury Road by the Days Inn and saw what he thought was a dead deer on the side of the road, Kluk said.
The motorist slowed down to look at the object next to the road when he realized it was actually a naked white male laying on the ground, he added.
While stopped, the man, identified as John Rodas of New York, jumped up and leaped into the bed of the Ridgefield man's pickup truck.
The man continued to drive south on Danbury Road as he called 911. The entire time the naked man was in the back of the truck.
When the man reached 1039 Danbury Road, Rodas jumped off the back of the truck while it was still moving and landed on the side of the road, Kluk said.
Rodas was transported to Danbury Hospital with life-threatening injuries and Puente's was released from the scene without charges.
The incident is still under investigation by the Wilton and Ridgefield Police departments.
